Audio Origami - PU7 Alloy Tonearm TVA Special Edition The Audio Origami PU7 Alloy Tonearm is one of the finest tonearms available today. The TVA SE version of the PU7 is wired internally with Kondo Audio Note of Japan pure silver wire. The arm is terminated with a 5 pin mini din connector for fitment of your own tonearm cable. With a minimal yet bulletproof design, the PU7 Alloy delivers a pure, unaltered signal thanks to the high-grade materials employed in its base, armtube, headshell and cabling. The armtube is damped with our unique Meta Material Armtube Damping System, (M.M.A.D.S.), 3D printed from an ultra-light and ultra-rigid material which provides perfect damping and keeps the internal cabling from touching any part of the armtube. The internal cabling is supplied by Cardas with a choice of Van Damme external cable or a 5 pin DIN allowing you to connect your own tonearm cable. The 12 inch version of the PU7 Alloy has almost identical characteristics to the 9 inch, but adds more dramatic dynamics and benefits from the ability to track the groove better, as you expect from longer arms. The Audio Origami PU7 Alloy is bead-blasted, brightened and anodised in a choice of satin silver or satin black allowing you to choose the finish that suits your turntable. It looks great, sounds ridiculously pure, and once you hear it on your turntable, it will likely be the last tonearm you ever buy. M.M.A.D.S META-MATERIAL ARM DAMPING SYSTEM All tonearm tubes suffer from resonance regardless of the material they are made from. Vibrations caused by the stylus and airborne resonance travel up and down the arm tube and the internal cables, increasing the noise floor and affecting the signal picked up by the cartridge. Audio Origami has invented a unique method of damping arm tubes, which provides perfect damping and resonance control. M.M.A.D.S is a tunnel embedded within the arm tube, made from a material that “floats” the internal cabling and reduces any resonance reaching the cables. The tunnel is suspended by ultra-thin flanges made from a material that rejects vibration. Unlike other damping methods, such as foam or rubber, M.M.A.D.S doesn’t dull the sound. In fact, it lowers the noise floor so much that you experience more clarity and air from your records.
