This .9995 fine palladium round was produced by Stillwater Mining Company and refined by Johnson Matthey.   One side of the round features Meriwether Lewis and William Clark looking out over the land they are mapping, Lewis pointing out significant attributes of the landscape and Clark listening carefully. The image, based on the painting “Lewis and Clark West to the Pacific,” pays tribute to the pivotal exploration that took place from 1804 to 1806, leading to many discoveries about the incredible land acquired for the United States during the Louisiana Purchase.
