Description On the obverse field of the 2014 Canadian Five Blessings 1 oz Gold Coin is an image of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003, this is the fourth-generation effigy of Her Majesty to feature on Canadian coins and is just the second-ever designed by a Canadian artist. In a first since the reign of King George VI, a British monarch is shown on Canadian denominations without a crown. Inscriptions read Elizabeth II and 50 Dollars 2014. The reverse face of 2014 Canadian Five Blessings Gold Coins includes the five animal designs that make up the Five Blessings symbolism. These include five animals arranged in a half-moon field on the left half of the coins design element. Included in the design, you will find a bat, deer, magpie, and two cranes. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include Fine Gold 9999 1 oz Or Pur 9999 along the half-moon that splits the design field vertically and Canada beneath the deer, above the cranes. Each of the animals depicted in the Five Blessings design has a unique meaning in Chinese culture when it comes to luck and good fortune. The bag symbolizes happiness. The deer represents success in your career. The cranes reflect a long life, and the two magpies represent joy. The RCM issued a low initial mintage of just 350 gold coins in this collection, meaning that remaining coins are low in number after several years. All coins listed here are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
