HOPEFULLY LAST UPDATE (2/9/2024): I debated trying again and decided to write customer service and ask for a new one, since I was still within the one year warranty according to the enclosed instruction sheet. They responded quickly — very nice — and my new clock radio is one the way. Fingers crossed. (I now have a different brand which is good, but miss the special DreamSky feature where you can choose one of several setting choices (in minutes) for radio to shut itself off. Good for drifting off to sleep.)ANOTHER UPDATE: (2/05/2024) Buttons stopped working again yesterday. This time can’t revive it. RIP little radio. I liked you when you worked.NEW UPDATE (1/23/2024): OK. This is weird. Since the volume up button for the radio was not working and there was no sound anymore, I unplugged my DreamSky clock radio (this was yesterday), took out the batteries, and put it away. But I didn’t want to give up, so today I put the batteries back and plugged it in again, resetting everything. And I heard the radio. I couldn’t believe it!But the radio wasn’t at full volume and the volume up button still did not work (I didn’t dare try the volume down button not wanting it stuck at zero like yesterday), so I tried the whole unplug, batteries out, let it rest, batteries back in, plug it in again thing. And now I am actually able to use both the volume up and down buttons. I have my radio back!!Can’t guarantee this will work for anyone else and I have no idea how long it will last, but adding this for anyone who has the same problem and at least wants to try this before giving up.UPDATE (1/22/2024): Less than a year in, the button to increase radio volume just stopped working completely. Everything else still works including back-up batteries, but can’t hear anything after testing decrease volume button which is now stuck on zero. Frustrating! Hesitant to trust this product again although I’d like to pretend it will last longer this time. Luckily my 18 year old simple but functional Radio Shack I dug out of the closet still works!===============================The clock radio fits nicely on top of my small nightstand and has an easy-to-read digital time display with a dimmer, which I appreciate. I gave it a 4 since you do need to read the manual carefully … they packed a lot of options into not too many things you can press. And I do wish the reception were stronger (somewhat thin sound and more crackling than my 15 year old Radio Shack radio clock), but for 24 bucks I didn’t expect miracles. :)
